Film Still

Why not come and see John Carpenter's fantastic film The Apocalypse Trilogy One of our many current highlights. With a cast including Various.

THE THING: In remote Antarctica, a group of American research scientists are disturbed at their base camp by a helicopter shooting at a sled dog. When they take in the dog, it brutally attacks both human beings and canines in the camp and they discover that the beast can assume the shape of its victims. A resourceful helicopter pilot (Kurt Russell) and the camp doctor (Richard Dysart) lead the camp crew in a desperate, gory battle against the vicious creature before it picks them all o ... continued

To help things run smoother on the night of a marathon, please heed these words:

- NO ADMITTANCE after midnight. This is for safety reasons and to ensure that there are no chancers from outside the cinema creeping in.

- DO NOT USE SOCIAL MEDIA TO HIGHLIGHT ISSUES. Wether there"s a technical problem; you"re too hot/cold; or another customer is being disrespectful to you or those around you, PLEASE inform the ushers/management. The people who deal with social media will more than likely be at home, asleep, and your complaints will go unnoticed until its too late. This leads on to...

-NO PHONES It may be an all-night marathon, but we will be acting as though it"s a regular daytime screening. Phones are annoying, please turn them off and refrain from using them.

-THREE STRIKES. If our ushers have to speak to you three times, or customers complain about you three times, you will be ejected from the cinema with NO REFUNDS and NO SYMPATHY!

- NO E-CIGARETTES. Yes, we understand they are welcome in many venues around the city but sadly not this one. The vapours prove distracting to those around you, so we ask that you kindly take your E-Cigarette and "vape" in the bar area rather than the screen.

- NO HOT FOOD. Eating in an auditorium smells at the best of times but remember, you"ll be in that room with potentially 280 others for approx. 12 hours. That stench will remain. We"ll put your food somewhere in our staff room, but then you"ll have to eat it cold at 10am in the morning.

- NO ALCOHOL from outside is permitted. Any alcohol found will be confiscated, and we"ll also really dislike you for going against this. This risks our bar license, which means that we"d lose a LOT of money keeping the cinema you love in good health.

- RESPECT FELLOW CINEMA-GOERS. No chatting about Downton Abbey or Top Gear (or whatever it is you all watch, we only watch movies), and avoid being rude to anyone. Remember you"re all in this together. Being rude and aggressive toward people will not work well for anyone.

- RESPECT THE STAFF. They"re here for you, they"re here to do your bidding and clean up and serve throughout the night. Some of them don"t even get to watch the films on the shift. They need a lot of love too. They also love to receive chocolates.

- BREAKS will be dictated on the night. Between films there will be a 10 minute break, sometimes more sometimes less. Either way, your film will go on as planned. It"s enough time to have an breather/cigarette break and hit up the kiosk for snacks.

- STICK AROUND for the survival photo. We upload them during the following week, but be patient with that one!

- HAVE A GREAT TIME. This isn"t really a rule, though we do hope you love the films and the atmosphere and continue to support us in marathons and beyond!

THE HUNGER GAMES: Every year, in the ruins of what was once North America, the Capitol of the nation of Panem forces each of its 12 districts to send a teenage boy and girl, between the ages of 12 and 18, to compete in the Hunger Games: a nationally televised event in which "tributes" fight each other within the arena, until one survivor remains. When Primrose Everdeen is selected, her sister Katniss volunteers in her place to enter the games and is forced to rely upon her instincts when she"s pitted against other tributes.

THE HUNGER GAMES: CATCHING FIRE: Along with fellow District 12 victor Peeta Mellark, Katniss Everdeen returned home safely after winning the 74th Annual Hunger Games. Winning means that they must turn around and leave their family and close friends, embarking on a "Victor"s Tour" of the districts. Along the way Katniss senses that a rebellion is simmering, but the Capitol is still very much in control as President Snow prepares the 75th Annual Hunger Games - the Quarter Quell - a competition that could change Panem forever.

THE HUNGER GAMES: THE MOCKINGJAY PART 1: Katniss Everdeen finds herself in District 13 after she shatters the games forever. Under the leadership of President Coin and the advice of her trusted friends, Katniss spreads her wings as she fights to save Peeta, along with other victors and a nation moved by her courage.

THE HUNGER GAMES: THE MOCKINGJAY PART 2: Realizing the stakes are no longer just for survival, Katniss Everdeen teams up with her closest friends, including Peeta, Gale, and Finnick, for the ultimate mission. Together, they leave District 13 to liberate the citizens of war-torn Panem and assassinate President Snow. What lies ahead are mortal traps, dangerous enemies, and moral choices that will ultimately determine the future of millions.
